Typical signs

These signs point to an infestation. On the phone, we help you assess what you have found.

Photo: Wasps
  • Busy traffic at one spot

Wasps keep flying into the same gap, for example under roof tiles, into the roller shutter box or into a crack in the wall.

  • Grey, papery ball

Free-hanging nests on roof overhangs, garden sheds or carports are made of chewed wood and grow throughout the summer.

  • Crackling in a cavity

A faint rustling or crackling behind cladding or a roller shutter often comes from wasps building their nest.

  • Wasps indoors

If wasps turn up in the same room every day, the nest is often in the wall or in the roller shutter box next to it.

Difficulty breathing, dizziness or swelling of the face after a sting is an emergency, as is a sting in the mouth or throat. In that case, call an ambulance immediately. Ambulance: 144

Methods and products are tailored to the flat, house or business – with consideration for children and pets.

  • Discreet and clean

We work unobtrusively and leave the rooms tidy. We discuss the appointment and the procedure with you alone.

Useful facts about wasps

In Switzerland, the German wasp and the common wasp cause most of the trouble. They like to build their nests in dark cavities: in roller shutter boxes, under roof tiles or in façade insulation. A colony is at its largest in late summer, when the wasps go for cake, ice cream and sweet drinks.

A nest inside a cavity can hardly be reached from outside. Water, spray or a blocked entrance hole often just drive the wasps deeper into the house or make them more aggressive.

If the nest is next to a child’s room, above the entrance, or someone in the household is allergic, removal belongs in the hands of specialists. We work with protective equipment and directly at the nest, so the rest of the house is left untouched.

How it works

From your call onwards, we take over – step by step.

  1. You call us

You tell us where the nest is and how busy the traffic is. We assess how urgent it is and arrange the appointment.

  2. Inspection on site

The specialist identifies the species, locates the entrance hole and checks whether the nest can be relocated or needs to be treated.

  3. Removing or treating the nest

The nest is relocated, removed or treated with an approved product directly at the entrance hole. Afterwards, the area can be used again.

Tell us where the nest is – we will take care of it.

What you’ll want to know before calling

Honest answers to the questions almost everyone asks. We are happy to clarify anything else in person.

What does it cost?

Our prices are transparent and fair. Give us a call – we will discuss your situation and the next steps.

Is it safe for children and pets?

The product is applied directly into the entrance hole, not sprayed around the room. You are told in advance how long children and pets should stay away from the area.

Will it stay discreet?

Yes. We arrive in neutral, unmarked vehicles and make sure your case is handled discreetly, so that outsiders notice nothing of the infestation.

How long does it take?

One appointment is usually enough. For a day or two afterwards, a few wasps that were outside may still be flying around.

Still unsure about something? We answer your questions personally on the phone. 043 508 75 29

Questions about wasps

Your question isn’t listed?
Ask us directly: 043 508 75 29

How dangerous is a wasp nest on the house?

Wasps defend their nest – even vibrations at the entrance hole can trigger many stings. It becomes critical with allergies and with nests next to the entrance, terrace or a child’s room.

Will an old nest be used again next year?

No. A wasp colony lives for only one summer and dies off in late autumn. Young queens start a new nest in spring, sometimes in a similar spot.

Do you also come at weekends?

Yes. We are available around the clock, including weekends and public holidays. We discuss directly on the phone when a visit is possible.

What about bees or bumblebees?

Bees and bumblebees are important pollinators and are not controlled. If there is a swarm of bees, a local beekeeper can help.
